Hi, my name’s Emily I’m 21 and I’m from Northumberland. I heard about M10 Missions at a presentation in school in 2011 and went on the trip in 2012. I signed up because I wanted to change my life. Before M10 I was in trouble all the time, I wasn’t allowed in a lot of lessons and didn’t turn up to the rest. I was more interested in going out and actually got arrested at the age of 14.
When I got out to Ensenada I was happy to see all the changes we made but sad we couldn’t help more people. It was upsetting seeing the suffering some people go through yet I was grateful for everything I had at home. I was upset I had thrown three years of my life away and these people had nothing. When I got home I changed everything! I stopped drinking and taking drugs; I went to school and got my A levels done, I’ve got into university to do social work and now I’m in my second year. When I graduate, I’m hoping to work in youth offending.
I would like to thank Stephen for giving me this amazing opportunity to go to the other side of the world so I could experience and embrace a completely different culture. It is definitely an experience that I will cherish and remember for the rest of my life and I feel that seeing such poverty and hardship has humbled me as a person.
One of the most amazing experiences in my life. Would highly recommend M10 Missions as an international aid charity! led by Godly people serving the participants who do this experience and the people they aid.
